Story

01

A career spent with the mouth

A graduate of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University graduate school, he specializes in orthodontics. As director of Miraise Orthodontics, he has looked beyond the alignment of teeth — to chewing, swallowing and speaking.

Restore the strength to chew and swallow, and still, if the meal that follows does not satisfy the heart, a person has not truly regained the act of eating. It is a conviction built up, patient by patient, in the clinic.

02

Turning medicine into a system

Leading MEDiDENT Inc. and Miraise Well Medical Group, he has widened the field from orthodontics to jaw deformity treatment, occlusal reconstruction and regenerative medicine.

In digital orthodontics and medical DX powered by AI and XR, he brings Japanese technology to medical education abroad — as visiting professor at Charles University Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Al Ryada University, and as visiting lecturer at Stanford University.

In 2025, at the Saudi Arabia Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, he signed an MOU on digital healthcare with Alfaisal University.

03

From what was left in the fridge

The turning point was a single plate. From the few ingredients left in a refrigerator, a chef made him a dish — and it was astonishingly good.

That chef was Yuichiro Watanabe, who would go on to become Executive Supervising Chef of Maison de Santé.

For a chef, constraint is where creation begins. Bring the precision of medicine and the creativity of chefs together in earnest, and hospital meals and therapeutic diets can change. From that conviction came the Clinical Gastronomy Project — where clinicians and chefs sit at the same table.

At Maison de Santé

People from separate worlds, at one table.

Clinicians, chefs, researchers, companies, medical institutions, government — people who have long worked apart. He connects them, and turns each outstanding effort into a social system built to last.

My role is not to cook, nor to answer this question with medicine alone.
